Take advantage of this integration to communicate effortlessly with your contacts.
Beyond manual sending from a contact record, the SMSBOX app adds a workflow action that sends your SMS automatically: notifications, follow-ups, confirmations and campaigns are triggered with no manual step, straight from HubSpot automation.
The "Send SMS via SMSBOX" action is available in workflows based on 5 object types. Whatever the trigger object, the SMS is sent to the associated contact (via their phone property).
| Object | Typical use cases |
|---|---|
| Contact | Welcome SMS, appointment confirmation, form follow-up, marketing campaign |
| Deal | Confirmation when moved to "Won", quote follow-up, sales-team notification |
| Ticket | Alert on high-priority ticket, acknowledgement, resolution notification |
| Company | Notify the primary contact on a key change at the company level |
| Order | Order confirmation, shipping notification, payment alert |
The SMSBOX action is configured with 4 fields:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Send mode | Standard (sender = short number), Expert (custom sender) or Response (recipient can reply) |
| Sender | Custom sender, used in Expert mode only |
| Strategy | 2 – Alert / notification · 3 – Non-commercial group communication · 4 – Commercial communication |
| Message | SMS content, personalizable with HubSpot tokens (e.g. {{contact.firstname}}) |
In Automation > Workflows, click "Create workflow" then "From scratch".
Select the trigger record type (Contact, Deal, Ticket, Company or Order) then click "Save and continue".
Define the enrollment trigger and its criteria. Adding a "Mobile phone number is known" criterion is recommended to avoid send failures.
Click the + below the trigger, search for "SMSBOX" in the actions panel, then select "Send SMS via SMSBOX".
Set the Mode, Strategy and Message. Insert HubSpot tokens (e.g. {{contact.firstname}}) via the "All data tokens" panel, then save.
Check the sequence: trigger, criteria, SMSBOX action and end point all appear in the overview.
Click "Review and publish", name the workflow on the Details step, then turn it on. Eligible contacts now receive the SMS automatically.
